Last updated: April 2026 · Applies to TubeSum and Reforesta
TubeSum: We never store the YouTube videos you summarise. Your summaries live only in your browser – we can’t recover them for you.
Reforesta: Your plantings (species, location, photos) are stored to help monitor reforestation over time. Even if you delete your account, the planting records remain (anonymised) because that’s the whole point – tracking survival rates.
We never sell your data. You can delete your account at any time.
1. Who we are
Dehesa Studio is an independent software studio based in Gran Canaria, Spain, operated by Andrea Demaria. We build AI-powered tools including TubeSum (tubesum.dehesa.dev) and Reforesta (reforesta.dehesa.dev).
Contact: hello@dehesa.dev
Website: dehesa.dev
2. What data we collect
We collect the minimum necessary for each service:
- TubeSum – email address (to identify your account), hashed password, usage count (free/Pro), subscription tier. We do not store YouTube URLs, transcripts, summaries, or your IP address.
- Reforesta – email address, username, hashed password, planting records (species, quantity, date, location name, optional GPS coordinates, photos), diary notes, soil type. We never store plain‑text passwords. We do not track your location in the background.
TubeSum – your summaries and history are stored only in your browser’s localStorage on your own device. We never see them, and we cannot restore them if you clear your browser data.
Reforesta – your plantings are stored on our server so you can see them from any device. Even if you delete your account, the planting records remain (anonymised – your name and email are removed) because monitoring reforestation success is the core purpose of the app.
3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
We process your data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)) – your email and password are necessary to provide the account-based service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) – usage counts are necessary to enforce free tier limits (TubeSum) and to maintain the community map (Reforesta).
4. How we use your data
- To authenticate you when you log in
- To provide the services (generate summaries, show your plantings on the map)
- To enforce free tier limits (TubeSum) and keep the community map accurate (Reforesta)
- We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or advertising
5. Third‑party processors
We use the following services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Railway (railway.app) – backend hosting (US/EU). Your email, hashed password, and Reforesta plantings are stored on Railway’s infrastructure.
- Lemon Squeezy – payment processing for TubeSum Pro. We never receive your card details.
- Vercel – frontend hosting for the websites.
- PlantNet API – used for plant identification in Reforesta. Images you upload for identification are sent to PlantNet’s servers; we do not store them unless you explicitly save them as part of a planting record.
We have no advertising partners, analytics trackers, or data brokers. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking scripts.
6. Data retention
- Active accounts – data retained while your account exists.
- Session tokens – expire automatically after 30 days.
- TubeSum usage records – retained for 90 days then automatically deleted.
- Deleted accounts – your email is anonymised immediately, your password hash is wiped. For Reforesta, your planting records remain (anonymised – your username and email are removed) so the community can continue to monitor survival rates. You can request full deletion of your plantings by emailing support@dehesa.dev.
7. Your rights under GDPR
As a resident of the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:
- Right of access – request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification – correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure – delete your account and associated personal data (plantings may remain anonymised for scientific purpose)
- Right to restrict processing – limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability – receive your data in a portable format
- Right to object – object to processing based on legitimate interests
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@dehesa.dev. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD): aepd.es
8. Delete your account
TubeSum: You can delete your account from within the app – Account settings → Delete account. This will immediately and permanently:
- Anonymise your email address
- Wipe your password hash
- Delete all usage records
- Invalidate all active sessions
Reforesta: Email us at support@dehesa.dev with your username. We will remove your email and password within 48 hours. Your planting records will remain (anonymised) to preserve the community’s reforestation data. If you want your plantings fully deleted as well, please say so – we will honour that request.
9. Cookies
Neither TubeSum nor Reforesta use cookies. Authentication uses a token stored in your browser’s localStorage (TubeSum) or a session token (Reforesta). This is not a cookie and is not transmitted to third parties.
TubeSum’s summary history is also stored in localStorage on your device only. Clearing your browser data will remove it.
10. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us at support@dehesa.dev.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the products evolve. Significant changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
